directions and parking

Parking is available on the west side of the building at 98th St and Logan Ave. Additional parking is located in the northeast lot at 98th St and James Ave.

By car: From I-35W, exit at 98th St and head west on 98th St for approximately one half mile to Logan Ave S. Turn left onto Logan Ave S and then left into the first parking lot entrance. Enter through the doors on the north end of the building closest to 98th St.

By bus: Metro Transit lines 539/546 run along 98th St, and line 547 runs along W Old Shakopee Rd. For more detailed transit information, visit the Metro Transit website.

By bike: Bike racks are located in all parking lots at Bloomington Civic Plaza.

Metro Mobility: Drop-off is in the northwest parking lot at 98th St and Logan Ave.

ABOUT BLOOMINGTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS (bca)

The BCA houses seven independent, nonprofit arts organizations. It is owned and operated by the City of Bloomington and contains two theaters, two art galleries, art classrooms, a dance studio, and offices for the resident arts organizations. Artistry is the anchor tenant at the BCA.

  • Updated 8/12/23 - to align with other arts organizations in our Twin Cities theatre community, Artistry has updated our Covid-19 Mask Policy.

    • For Sunday performances, masks will be required for the following performances:

      The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee: Oct 22nd - 2pm

      On days with masked performances: Masks must be worn at all times during the performance and must securely cover your mouth and nose. A mask will be available, if you do not have one.

    Proof of Vaccination is not required to see a performance at Artistry.

    Guests who are sick or exposed to COVID-19 are kindly asked to stay home to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Please contact the Box Office to transfer your tickets to another performance, or request a patron credit. There will be no fees or penalties for making changes to your tickets. You can contact our box office at 952-563-8575 or info@artistrymn.org.

    Thank you for working with us to prioritize the safety of the actors, dancers and musicians on stage!

  • Masking is encouraged but not required. Students who are sick or experiencing more than two of the symptoms below are kindly asked to stay home to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and any other illnesses.

    Symptoms Include:

    • Fever or chills

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

    • Fatigue

    • Muscle or body aches

    • Headache

    • New loss of taste or smell

    • Sore throat

    • Congestion or runny nose

    • Nausea or vomiting

    • Diarrhea

    We also ask that you follow all recommendations by the CDC if recovering from any illnesses. If you have any questions or need to reschedule your camp please contact our Box Office at 952-563-8575 (Wed-Fri 1pm-5pm), or email info@artistrymn.org. Email is a faster way to communicate with the box office.

ACCESS

Parking

Accessible parking is available in all Bloomington Center for the Arts lots. The closest and most convenient accessible parking is in the lot on the East side of the building.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Wheelchair access exists throughout the Bloomington Center for the Arts. The Schneider Theater has accessible wheelchair/ scooter seating and a limited number of transfer seats available.

Public Wheelchairs

The Bloomington Center for the Arts has wheelchairs and one power scooter available for public use free of charge. Please inquire at the City Information Desk when you arrive.

Elevators

The Atrium Gallery and second-floor arts classrooms are accessible using the elevator just behind the City Information Desk in the Center for the Arts lobby.

Theater Seating

The Bloomington Center for the Arts has accessible wheelchair/scooter seating. The Schneider Theater also has a limited number of transfer seats available. Please let us know when you purchase your tickets online or by phone that you require accessible seating. If you have questions or need further assistance, please call our box office at 952-563-8575.

A Note about Theater Seating in the Schneider Theater
Rows A - G: No Stairs required to access these rows. A ramp entrance is located by the East Lobby Doors, or the right most side of the house when looking at the seating chart.

Transfer Seats: C1, E1, G1, A25, C28, E31, and G28 are transfer seats with flip-up armrests.

Rows H-P do require stairs for access.

Restrooms

All restrooms in the Bloomington Center for the Arts are fully accessible to patrons in wheelchairs. An all-gender, fully-accessible private restroom with a diaper changing station is available on the main floor for public use.

Seats are located in Rows B, C, D & E starting on the aisle on the left side of the house for shows in the Schneider Theater.

ASSISTED LISTENING SERVICES

Assisted listening devices are available at no charge for every Artistry performance in the Schneider Theater. These systems transmit amplified sound via hearing aids and headsets.

INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN

Bad Weather before a Theater Performance

If bad weather is preventing you from attending your scheduled performance, please call the Box Office at 952-563-8575 prior to the performance to reschedule your ticket(s). In the rare event a performance would be canceled, the box office will reach out to reschedule your tickets to an alternate performance if possible, or credit your account for a future performance.

On-Site Emergency During Theater Performance

Your night out at the theatre will most likely be a very enjoyable time, however; sometimes emergencies happen. If and when they do occur, the staff at Artistry will be on hand to assist. In the rare event of Tornado Sirens, Fire, or other Severe Weather situations, we will pause the show. An announcement will be made and our staff and volunteers will direct you to the nearest areas of safety.
