Katie is so excited to teach at Artistry this summer! Katie began performing at age 3 in dance recitals and hasn't stopped since, performing in musicals at various theaters around the Twin Cities including Eagan Summer Community Theater, Phipps Center for the Arts and Lakeshore Players Theater. A 2020 graduate of St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and English, Katie has also continued in dance classes at Rhythm and Shoes Dance Studio, completing her 11th season there in 2023. By day, Katie works in marketing at Special Olympics Minnesota. Katie prioritizes finding the joy and fun in every performance and enjoys sharing her love of the arts!"

 

Alissa Bidwell (St. Olaf 22' NYU Tisch 23') Is a Minnesotan theater creator, storyteller, and activist with a passion for educational and devised theater. She is beyond excited to jump into her summer at Artistry and begin creating!

 

Katie Edwards is a Twin Cities based scenic carpenter, artist, and designer. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with her degree in theater design and technology and is very excited to teach others about her favorite aspects of live performance. When she's not making art, she can be found hiking with her two dogs or on the couch with a new book.

 

Kezia Florence is an improviser and artist, and has been training in improv for 10+ years. While attending the University, Kezia was part of a long-form improv team that placed 2nd at the College Improv Tournament national competition. Since then, Kezia coached improv at the University for 4 years, took classes at Huge Improv Theater and appeared in productions there, and performs improv regularly with her group, Denim On Denim. In addition to improv, Kezia taught at children's theater camps for Chanhassen Dinner Theatres and for Hill-Murray high school. Kezia believes that improv can unlock our creativity and turns our playfulness into power, and she can't wait to teach this summer at the Artistry Summer Camps!

 

Renee Guittar is a professional dancer, choreographer, and dance educator based in Saint Paul and originally from Lincoln, Nebraska. In 2022, Renee had the honor to choreograph the year-long run of Footloose at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. Also in 2022, Renee choreographed Merrily We Roll Along at Theater Latte Da, and was the associate and resident choreographer for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Ordway. Renee has performed in regional musicals at The Guthrie, The Ordway, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, and The Old Log Theater. Renee has been a company member with Collide Theatrical Dance Company since 2013 performing in over 19 original productions. Renee is a teaching artist with the Cowles Center, a teacher at Ashley Ballet Arts Academy, and has choreographed musicals at numerous local high schools. Renee received a B.A. in Dance with Honors from Gustavus Adolphus College. Renee is lucky enough to spend her life with her dance partner and husband Rush Benson and her dog, Tofu.

Grace is a local performer and teaching artist who is absolutely thrilled to be a part of Artistry's teaching staff. She is passionate about connecting with young artists from all walks of life and is a strong believer in being a collaborative learning partner with students. Theatre and theatre education has greatly impacted Grace's life, as a student as well as an educator and she can't wait to jump into camps this summer. While not onstage or working with the minds of tomorrow, Grace can be found enjoying the chain of lakes, watching tv shows she's seen at least 100 times, and reading books she finds in little free libraries.

 

Sam is a Twin Cities based artist, performer, and photographer. He has a deep passion for creating meaningful stories on a variety of stages and platforms. Most recently, he co-directed the Hill-Murray School Sketch Comedy. For the last 8+ years, Sam has been singing with Noble Voices in  Savage, Chanhassen, Waconia, and Excelsior. In addition, he is an international DECA finalist. Sam has a knack for producing promotional jingles and pitches for Marketing and Communications. He just returned from the world competition in Orlando and excited to share all of his experiences with others at the Artistry this summer!

 

Elly is a Twin Cities based dancer and teaching artist and has been working as a performer at Artistry for over ten years! She has also enjoyed working with other Twin Cities companies like Collide Theatrical Dance Company, Theatre Latte Da, and Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. She teaches dance and theatre to students of all ages through programs like Hennepin Theatre Trust and the Spotlight Education program, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, the Shell Lake Art Center, and various Twin Cities schools and dance studios. She is excited to share her love of theatre and dance with the students at Artistry!

 

Dorothy Jo is a theatre artist originally from Dubuque, IA. With a BFA in theatre from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI, Dorothy Jo is passionate about creative and fun storytelling through directing and performing. Favorite credits include touring with Missoula Children's Theatre (Alice in Wonderland, Hansel & Gretel), Matilda (Mrs. Wormwood), Rock of Ages (Regina), 9 to 5 (Roz), and the Show Place Ice Cream Parlor.
